The Atlantic blacktip (Carcharhinus limbatus) is among the most persecuted of all sharks. Small and shy, they are rarely seen by divers, but can be spotted from the sky in magnificent aggregations reaching into the thousands. Yet due to their acute senses and high flight distance, no one has ever filmed these aggregations underwater. The blacktip silhouettes printed on these sleeves are positioned exactly as blacktips travel in schools, migrating from winter feeding grounds in Florida to summer breeding grounds as far north as New York. Due to their relative abundance, blacktips have virtually no legal protections and are commonly killed for jaw trophies or to use as bait for larger species. At Fish Defender, we believe that all sharks large or small, rare or abundant are inherently valuable and worthy of protection, like all marine wildlife. We will use the funds from your purchase to fight for them.

To make your rashguard last longer, thoroughly rinse it off after each use and get rid of any chlorine/salt residue. This product runs small and is quite fitted. For a more comfortable fit, we suggest choosing one size up. Please note that contact with rough surfaces and velcro fasteners should be avoided since they can pull out the white fibers in the fabric, damaging the rash guard’s appearance.
