For years, fishermen in California have illegally targeted white sharks by exploiting loopholes in state laws. CA Fish & Game Commission has proposed long-needed restrictions on the leaders and hooks used to target large sharks, as well as illegalizing the removal of white sharks from the water.

Take action for California’s great whites today by submitting your public comment before July 30th. Writing your own unique comment ensures it will be read, but you can use the template in the link to get started.

-Protect mako sharks as well to eliminate the excuse of mistaken species.
-Prohibit drone fishing, in alignment with federal law.
-Prohibit photoshoots with captured white sharks, delaying their release.
-Ensure that regulations require keeping the gills of the shark submerged.
